資深演員李興文去年12月因為24歲長子李堉睿（Max）在IG分享抽大麻好處的影片曝光，讓李興文氣到抓狂，事後強調留美歸國的兒子只是愛現，沒有真的吸食大麻。如今兒子已考上北部某大學在職碩士班電影系導演組，準備今年8月開課，目前也已在南部打工。

李興文今錄衛視《請問你是哪裡人》被問到兒子近況，他誇兒子很有編導天分，對拍影片很有興趣，未來也不排斥讓兒子接觸演藝圈，他可以做幕後，但幕前還是要看緣分。事發後，他跟兒子曉以大義，也會過濾兒子在網路拍的影片，他之前說想po影片問多少女生願意跟他親嘴，模仿國外那樣，我說這樣不行，他就是天馬行空很會想，很多影片我都叫他拿掉了，離經叛道的事，你去測驗人性幹嘛？希望他接下來做的事情是對社會大眾有幫助的。
